Managed Review and Review Manager, London
Jones Kemp regularly assist our Big Four clients via our managed review service. We recently received a request of a particularly high profile and confidential nature for a team of forty qualified lawyers (with minimum 3 years pqe) to undertake a document review on behalf of the UK Government Legal Department. We provided ISO certified secure premises and work stations in a London zone one location for our team, including a dedicated office area for our client.
We worked closely with the client and review manager to ensure that daily and weekly targets to review over 400,000 complex multi-issue documents in under 8 weeks were met.
Due to the highly sensitive nature of the documents, all the document review lawyers had to be DBS cleared before they could commence work. We obtained that clearance within 24 hours.
Jones Kemp were asked to source a qualified lawyer at short notice for a top tier law firm seeking a secondee for their client, a leading investment bank. We were required to source a candidate with solid financial markets and in-house experience to advise on legal and regulatory risk.
Jones Kemp were given exclusivity on this requirement by the client as we are known for our high quality candidate base and ability to respond quickly to our clients’ needs.
We sourced three potential options, two of which were selected for interview and one we are delighted to say secured the role. The successful candidate started in the position within three weeks of our initial instruction.
Document Review, London
Supplying large teams of document review lawyers at the shortest of notice has always been one of our unique services. A typical example is the procurement of a 35 member team of lawyers for a Magic Circle client to start within 24 hours. This was followed by a request for 20 additional lawyers, with multiple languages, to join the team the day after. Along with additional needs, this team steadily expanded to over 80 reviewers which we continued to manage for over 6 months.
A member of our leadership team regularly visited the client site to assist with the smooth running of the project.
Head of eDiscovery
Our candidate – a newly qualified lawyer – began working for us at a Magic Circle law firm undertaking document review. In this role she developed an excellent relationship with the client and went on to help manage and coordinate subsequent reviews.
When another of our clients asked us to assist in securing a new permanent Head of eDiscovery, we were confident her approach and personality would be perfect. Upon receipt of her CV the law firm were understandably hesitant, citing concerns regarding the lack of a clear technical or eDiscovery background.
We have always had a good relationship with the firm in question and therefore took it upon ourselves to champion our candidate. As a result we secured her an interview. She came across very well, demonstrating a proven interest and capability in eDiscovery, combined with a willingness to learn and excellent client facing skills. Our candidate secured the position and we are happy to say is now a client of ours.
International Document Review, Dubai
Jones Kemp was recently instructed by a leading law firm to source a large team of lawyers to undertake a four-month document review project in the UAE at an international bank. We had under one week to source the candidates and assist the client in mobilizing the team. This included preparing visas and coordinating flight itineraries. Once on the ground a member of the Jones Kemp team acted as a round the clock point of liaison for all our lawyers to ensure minimal disruption for our client and ultimately therefore the end client.
Regional Document Review, Bristol
With law firms increasingly insourcing legal project work, Jones Kemp was instructed to source a team of document review lawyers for a leading London law firm’s Bristol office. The market in Bristol is, understandably, very different from London. The available candidate pool is smaller; particularly when seeking qualified lawyers or senior paralegals to undertake temporary work at short notice. With this in mind, we held regular recruitment days in Bristol, in which a member of our leadership team met face to face with all the shortlisted candidates, to ensure those being sent to our client were a perfect fit professionally and culturally.
